How to Remove the Blogger Navbar

Removing Blogger's Navbar

I have been asked this question a lot. How do you remove the ugly looking Blogger NavBar from the top of the blog?

It is really simple to do - takes less than a minute.

Start your timer and here we go...

Go to Layout and hit the Edit HTML tab

You will see a screen showing the top of your Blogger Template similar to that shown below.

Just add the text exactly as shown in the circle outlined in the screenshot.

And you are done - I told you it was quick!

If you want the NavBar back - just remove the code.

Cheers,

Griz

Update: An even better option.

Denise was kind enough to point me to this post for a better script that allows you to show or hide the bar without having to keep adding or removing the code.

see How to Hide Blogger NavBar

To see how it works just click the "Show/Hide Navigation" link at the top of the sidebar.

  2. Punisher,

Lol. Fair enough - it is useful too.

Hey - can't find your email - send it again now if you can and I'll give the site a quick look.

    Thanks

  3. I use this show/hide code on my Blogger blogs.

    You can view it at:

This way I can use my navigation bar when I need to. Much easier than adding and deleting it all the time.

  4. To tell you the truth Griz it would have suited me fine if you'd left it so I could have found your post on the list of article submission sites.

Found under MakeMoney Lesson 3 though.

  6. Dee,

Sorry about that - I'm testing and comparing bounce rates and ctr on the site and I changed the "above the fold" area again. Ultimately I'm just trying to tweak the site for top ad conversions. A pain for my readers (sorry) but the site is ideal for testing ideas on due to the high amount of steady traffic. I hope you will forgive me.

  7. Thank you Griz,
This really makes a difference in how the blog looks. I can't thank you enough for all you have taught me. I have added you to my appropriate blogrolls but if there is anything else I can do let me know. Any links or whatever.

  8. Hey Griz,

Gave this code a try and installed it into a few of my blogger blogs. Within a short amount of time, Blogger sent a message saying those blogs were locked down for violating their terms. They claim it is being investigated as a spam blog. Didn't know if it was just a coincidence, so I applied the code to another one, and sure enough - it was locked down by Blogger a short time later with the same message . Anyone else have this occur ? Just a note to give the readers a heads up... Thanx Griz

  9. Hi Griz,

When I 'view source' on your blogger sites, I notice no metadata related to keywords. Do you think metadata is not important? Just wondering if I should be worried about it or not.

This program is for those of you who want to make money online but don't have or want a blog or website. This isn't a get rich scheme. It is a work at home job that can make you a few hundred dollars a day if you put in some effort.

I have written several posts about this and suggest you start with this one. Project Payday

Unfortunately Project Payday is only available to American users at this time. It is free to join.
